Press conference

6 28 2026

The excitement continues to build for America's 250th Birthday Celebration after officials gathered yesterday at the historic South Street Seaport Museum to unveil new details about the spectacular Sail4th 250 celebration coming to New York Harbor. Governor Kathy Hochul joined Sail4th 250 organizers, U.S. Navy and Coast Guard leaders, and New York City officials to highlight what is expected to be one of the largest patriotic events in the nation's history.

The centerpiece of the celebration will be an unforgettable Parade of Ships on July 4, featuring more than 40 magnificent tall ships representing 40 nations, led by the U.S. Coast Guard Cutter Eagle. The historic procession will sail through New York Harbor beneath the Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge before traveling up the Hudson River, creating a breathtaking display that millions of spectators are expected to witness from the city's waterfront.

Officials also announced that the celebration will include more than 30 naval vessels, an International Aerial Review led by the Blue Angels, public ship tours, family-friendly events, and the iconic Macy's Fourth of July Fireworks. Organizers estimate that nearly six million people will line more than 15 miles of New York and New Jersey waterfront to celebrate America's Semiquincentennial.

The press conference at the South Street Seaport Museum emphasized New York City's historic role in the nation's founding and its place as the perfect host for this once-in-a-generation celebration. With thousands of visiting sailors and military personnel from around the world, Sail4th 250 promises to be a spectacular tribute to America's past, present, and future.

          Nathan's Hot Dog Contest 2025

          Nathan's Hot Dog Contest 2025

The Nathan's Hot Dog Eating Contest is an annual event held every Fourth of July at Coney Island, New York, and it's one of the most famous competitive eating competitions in the world. It's known for its extreme feats of eating, where contestants try to devour as many hot dogs as possible within 10 minutes.

Joey Chestnut is the undisputed champion of this contest. He has been the dominant force in competitive eating for years, winning the Nathan's contest multiple times. His streak of dominance began in 2007 when he first took the title, and since then, he's become a legend in the world of competitive eating.

His record-breaking feats are nothing short of jaw-dropping. The most remarkable one came in 2021, when Chestnut devoured 76 hot dogs in 10 minutes, breaking his own record and cementing his status as the king of competitive eating.

Joey Chestnut's training for the event is intense, involving both physical and mental preparation. He uses techniques like dunking hot dogs in water to make them easier to swallow and trains by eating large quantities of food, including things like watermelon and mashed potatoes, to stretch his stomach.

Are you a fan of the contest, or have you ever seen it in action? It’s pretty wild to watch!
